Chicago, North Shore, and Milwaukee Interurbans

The Chicago, North Shore, and Milwaukee Railroad, also known as the "North Shore Line", was an interurban railroad connecting its namesake locations, the city of Chicago, its northern suburbs along the "north shore" of Lake Michigan, and the city of Milwaukee. Along this route, the railroad provided mostly passenger services, but several businesses and industries had freight service provided by the railroad.

While the earliest beginnings of the railroad appeared in 1895, the name "North Shore Line" first appeared in 1916. The right-of-way used by the railroad was quite diverse; it reached central Chicago via the "Loop" elevated tracks, used recessed and high-speed tracks connecting the suburbs, and negotiated the streets of Milwaukee to its northern terminal. During the golden age of the railroad, they offered luxurious parlor cars and dining services, including on their named train the Gold Coast Limited.

These cars represent steel interurban cars purchased by the railroad between 1915 and 1930, which were upgraded and modified several times throughout the years. The North Shore Line's steel cars were built by a total of five different manufacturers throughout the years, with several variations between them all. These capture an average design between them all, particularly of the most common and notable versions, a standard coach, and a combine. These cars are represented with three different liveries the cars wore throughout their career. For each livery both a combine and coach car are available.

• A 1920s Livery painted medium green, and painted orange around the front windows. Available from 1915 to 1950.
  
• A modern dark green and red, one of the most common liveries. Available from 1939 to 1963.
  
• The "Silverliner" livery, featuring airbrushed gradients to make the smooth steel cars appear similar to newer fluted stainless steel lightweight cars. Available from 1951 to 1963.
