Alfa Romeo Alfa Six

This mod presents one business-class personal car model Alfa 6 (series 119), produced by the Italian company Alfa Romeo from 1979 to 1986. The first generation of this model was produced only until 1982, in 3 years 5748 cars were produced. In 1983, the restyling of the model was completed, it was equipped with an improved engine in several versions and was produced until 1986. In total, more than 12000 copies of Alfa 6 were produced.


With the introduction of the Alfa 6 to the market, it became the flagship in the Alfa Romeo lineup. The four-door body was fairly conventional and similar in style to the already existing Alfa Romeo Alfetta. In fact, both cars share a huge number of similar parts, including door panels. The design of the Alfa 6 was developed before the release of the Alfa Romeo Alfetta, but during the 1973 fuel crisis, further developments were delayed, and the debut did not take place until 1979.

The body design did not have much aerodynamic qualities, but the shape drag coefficient turned out to be quite good. The new 2.5-liter V6 engine produced 160 hp. at 5600 rpm, six carburetors and one camshaft with one camshaft for all six cylinders were used in its design. The engine and transmission were at the front, and the differential at the rear. The Alfa 6 had «de Dion» suspension at the rear and independent at the front, and the gearbox was also at the front. A three-speed automatic from ZF was available as an option, and ZF's power steering was the first to be fitted to an Alfa Romeo.

The model was equipped with power windows, power steering, central locking, electric rear-view mirrors, and a differential with increased internal resistance. This basic equipment made the Alfa 6 price-competitive compared to other sedans, since these options were usually quite expensive. The car also set new safety standards. For example, the model was equipped with a shock sensor in the trunk, which, upon impact, cut off the fuel supply.
