CE1M1 Tekan

The CE1M1 Tekan is a earth borer used by the Signals and Engineers of the Khertland army to establish wired communications such as telephony or electrical power lines. These are often used for constructing bases or along ground lines of communications. The Tekan is a modern combination derrick/auger design allowing it to bore in to the ground for a telephone pole placement. It can then use its crane to lift the pole in place. The attached construction lift enable further manual work atop the communications pole.

The Tekan is a critical logistical and engineering asset for the army. Telephone ground lines is a secure form of communication unless the enemy manages to directly tap the wire. As these wires run along friendly territories, it is difficult to do so. Communications is necessary for fast paced maneuver warfare, where coordination is key and the Tekan enable the Khertland army to quickly lay such ground wires whenever and wherever it is needed.

The vehicle has a crew of two, one driver, and one crane/auger operator. During work, the driver acts as the site safety officer, overseeing the surrounding are and the work being done. His job is to assist, and gudie the operator, and warn of potential hazards like active power lines, tree branches etc. Due to the space taken up by the crane/auger system, the crew are crammed into a small cab on the left.
