MCI Polaris GW

描述
Are you ready for your new home-away-from-home?

MCI Polaris chassis is inspired by its namesake from SC verse. It is an Early to Mid-game upgradable Core 9 corvette and space-craft carrier vessel that crews 1 to 3 ppl. MADE FOR REFORGED EDEN ONLY! Vanilla Compatibility is impossible as the ship is practically built out of solid sloped ramps.

GW modification - also lovingly called "Gunnery Wife" variant by alpha-users - is a turret platform corvette sister of the previously published Polaris M torpedo boat https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2875318232. It is ideally crewed by 2 to take advantage of the pre-installed Artillery Cannon Turret and its powerful EMP shell. Compared to its brother, GW modification further looses its 10 slots for the MX-4 Rapid Torpedo Launchers, instead gaining 11 extra turret slots for upgrades as detailed in the pictures. Two of the M variant EMP Cruise Missile Launchers were additionally moved to the top front of the ship to provide a more intuitive experience for newer players. Some other turret positions were re-optimised to allow better firing arcs.

At 6 kt, 4 decks, an open cockpit made of heavy glass and with a hull composed of a mixture of Steel and Hardened Steel - it handles with relative ease, carries decent armaments, is equipped with 2 Mining Drill lasers, has a slot for a multi-tool turret, two 3x3 grow plots, full production and medical facilities, reactive Pilot Display, smart Signal Logic Suit, enough storage space to carry all your belongings and a convenient multi-tiered hangar that would fit a number of small to medium sized SVs and HVs (including some of current favourites like Sarissa and BoomBox SVs, the Kataphract HV or even the heavy monsters like Carn HV).

In stock configuration it relies on 4 EMP Cruise Missile Turrets and a Laser Turret to strip enemy shields and 4 fixed Artillery Cannons and a Artillery Cannon Turret to do hull damage. This complement of weapons is designed to be used in a kiting approach: strip shields with EMPs from a distance without taking too much fire, then close in to disable and board or destroy your chosen target. This way Polaris can take on most Orbital Patrol Vessels you will meet in common space. Protection against drones is further provided by 4 Minigun Turrets.

Polaris further has space for up to 10 Auxiliary or Quantum cores. It is not recommended to take this ship against any Legacy ships, but with careful kiting it is totally capable of killing nullifiers to forage for the Aux core components.
Weapon upgrade options are flexible to fill all of the available 23 turret slots. One of the tested and well performing loadouts featured:
- A total of 12 EMP turrets
- 5 Railgun Turrets
- 6 Heavy Minigun Turrets
- Up to 2x additional Artillery Cannons in place of the Mining Drill Lasers (front top)
- Up 4x additional Artillery cannons can be put in place of two turret slots on the sides of the ship
- NOTE: please read the LCD in the Armoury to learn about Combat and Boarding Mode operations and weapons programming!

Stock shields are moderate at 15.5k, but with good recharge rate and sufficient for kiting OPVs while barraging them with EMPs from 800m to 1050m distance. Slots are available for extra 5 medium 3x3x2 shield upgrades and it is recommended to install 3 Capacitor Banks and 2 Charger Couplings to preserve a decent recharge rate for the resulting 45k HP Shield.

Slots are further available for 4 additional Advanced Thrusters: 2 rear facing in the top nacelles and 2 upwards facing in the rear top of the ship’s hull. To place – carefully remove the place-holder blocks and the thrusters will fit right in.

Polaris GW is a very capable vessel, can hunt for its own upgrades and, when fully kitted out, will hold its own against anything up to a Tovera. However, it is not the most newbie friendly ship as it lacks auto-homing generator killing weaponry. It is NOT a brawler, and requires careful and patient piloting, or a wish to learn it. If you are like us and don’t rush into any new OPV with your eyes closed, but instead prefer to strip enemy vessels from afar, then defang, disable, and board your opponents – you will fit right in.

Stock installed features:
- Storage compartments: 1x 640kL, 2x 400kL, 1x 320kL, 1x 176kL, 1x 40kL, 1x 16kL, 6x 8kL, 3x 5.38kL, 1x 4.88kL

Thanks @FluffyBunnykins! :)
Yes, there is - it should have been in fact like that. Here is what you do:
0. Go to the Signal Logic in the ship's control panel
1. Change the Delay circuit MHF3-delay-MHF4 to MHF2-delay-MHF4.
2. Remove the OR circuit (MFT-or-MHF4)-MHFL
3. Add an XOR circuit (MFT-xor-MHF4)-MHFL
4. Check that the Alarms are programmed to follow MHFL

The game may refuse to create the XOR circuit and keep defaulting to (MFT-xor-MHF4)-Sig00X - if it does, just call it MHFL2 instead of MHFL and make the alarm lights follow this new signal.

To reprogram the lights themselves either find them in the device list - they are called Warning Light (Alarm). Or run up to each one and press P, then move to the Devices Tab and the warning light you've selected will get selected.

Lastly - should probably scrap the Warning Light on the ceiling in the Marine Quarters (Deck 3, rear port side).

Fantastic Ship! Is there a way to make the alarm stop after a certain amount of time? It's sensory overload

My wife is happy, so am I!
Nice profile with a great view from the bridge. Its the first ship for me I most time fly from inside. There is a central corridor through the whole ship from the bow to the stern. The LCDs are great and support the view from the pilot seat, because the important functions in combat are shown while flying the ship. The big hangar for all kind of HV's and SV's supports this multi role ship, and stores our 6 vessels with enough space between them. There are also enough container for item sorting. We use the Polaris as an all in one ship for exploration, with turret support in the early game. It carries all our vehicles and stuff. The entrance near the bridge makes it great for a quick in and out, and its a very nice ship for our duo co-op play. Its armour is nice when the shield gets down too quick.
