Air Chathams - ATR 72-500

Air Chathams is New Zealand's second largest airline after Air New Zealand. Flying domestically across the country and from the Main Islands across to the Chatham Islands in the east. Air Chathams also operate flights to Norfolk Island, and formerly flew to Tonga. Air Chathams took over several routes formerly operated by Air New Zealand when they reduced some of their regional routes.

Air Chathams acquired 2 ATR 72-500 aircraft from Air New Zealand to expand their fleet and improve their operations with these new routes. During the summer, they fly one as a charter aircraft as well as on peak demand routes and winter use it to assist in transport operations to Chatham Islands as well as the standard routes. This plane might have very minor differences to the ATR 72-600 model that this plane is based on, but as most differences are internal, it is deemed that this okay
While this airplane might not be the most relevant to most people, its another valuable addition to New Zealand cities
