CRN F-174 Saberhawk Amospheric Fighter

The CRN Saberhawk Fighter is the CRN's latest creation. fast, maneuverable, deadly, reliable and cheap. The Saberhawk is loved by all of the pilots who fly her, described as a dream to fly by pilots from inside the republic and outside. Intended as a mainline fighter interceptor for atmospheric operations, the Saberhawks primary roles revolve around air dominance and quick interdiction of enemy targets. As such the Saberhawk is nimble and speedy, with a large range, the Saberhawk can engage targets of opportunity at great range. And can stay on station for sorties and combat patrols for some time. Leveraging superior speed and maneuverability in dogfights, the Saberhawk can get the upper hand on many opponents it encounters.

Development for the Saberhawk started in 2985, when the republic realized that its existing Charger atmospheric interceptors would not cut it for future planetary combat. Going back to the drawing board, the Republic realized the need for a platform with better power distribution, speed and maneuverability, than what the Charger provided. This platform also had to be relatively cheap, given that if CRN planets came under attack the Republic would need to be able to replace losses relatively quickly. When the Saberhawk was finished just 5 years later, it would taste first blood in the planetary defense of the key republic planet of Arcadia. With overwhelming odds pilots charged with defending the planet faced down overwhelming odds. With the CRN's main fleets Ares, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades en route. It was the Saberhawks job of making sure that the main fleets wouldn't find a glassed shell of a planet. As the ground war raged on Arcadia, Saberhawk crews were tasked with keeping the skies clear of any enemy combatants. At great cost as well, At the onset of the conflict there were several thousand squadrons stationed all over Arcadia. Once the republic pushed back the bugs, outside of republic territory the remaining squadrons had been consolidated into 500 separate squadrons. Though Saberhawk crews took heavy losses, the plane itself was a very capable platform. In one day one flight of Saberhawks took on 350 enemy bombers shooting down nearly all, only getting gunned down when fighter and corvette escorts showed up. In the CRN's operation "Lance" Saberhawk crews further supported bomber wings as they attacked ground targets, performing as fighter escorts. These Saberhawk escorts kept incoming fighters from getting to the main bomber wings. And without the Saberhawk the republic's advance into the Gideon system would have been severely blunted.

This fighter works really really well. it's was a pretty quick build only taking me a day to make. Its also one of my few super survival ready builds. I should know since I somewhat tested myself, Its really fast and maneuverable, and pretty good at dogfighting. It has no sub grids, or scripts. So its perfect for PC and XBOX.
