When heroes kill drowned enemies in the Cove, they have a chance to gain the Watched by the Deep quirk. Killing the Sodden Captain will automatically grant Watched by the Deep to its killer, and free the Abyssal Hunter to haunt the Cove.

The Abyssal Hunter will strike out across your party, inflicting bleeds and stress aplenty. When thoroughly injured, he will dive below to recuperate and summon reinforcements. If you don't force him to resurface early, he will reemerge with a truly devastating attack.

Defeating the Abyssal Hunter will reward you with a few Sharktooth Wards, which can be used to regress the Watched by the Deep quirk or sold for a hefty amount at quest end. You also have a chance to get one of his two unique trinkets.
