Degtyaryov DP from Raid: World War II

One of many Vasiliy Degtyaryov's designs (not to be confused with Mikhail "Bathhouse Boy" Degtyaryov, the current assigned Khabarovsk Kray governor and a big idiot that replaced the democratically elected and beloved Sergey Furgal), the Soviet DP (also known as DP-27 or DP-28) is the infantry version of a series of machine guns. Notable is its distinctive "pan" magazine, which gave it nicknames such as "record player" or "dinner plate". The tank mounted and aircraft versions have a less wide but taller magazines, more reminiscent of those used by Lewis machine guns. Further developments gave it a pistol grip (DPM) and later a belt feed mechanism (RP-46), and in certain today's conflicts the DP still sees combat use with uncharacteristically modern optical sights.


Screw it, here's the final gun for the complete Raid WWII pack, last touched in March. Eventually CinnabarFlail will release his own animated DP mod, which will be 400 times better. With a script that lowers the rate of fire to 500 RPM, the Desert Rifle feels like fully automatic when the trigger is held down, but will still fire in increments of three. I chose the DP to replace the SCAR as it has the largest magazine of the automatic weapons in Raid (not counting the MG 42) and a real life rate of fire that fits the bill, so the slow reload wouldn't be much of a detriment.
