A futuristic XM8 descendant from CoD: Black Ops II

Initially a part of the OICW program, the XM8 is a German rifle series based on their G36 design. The project was eventually split into the separate rifle (XM8) and grenade launcher (XM25) parts. The XM8 also participated in the SCAR contest, but was not successful. The shell is made mostly of polymers and it does away with the Picatinny rails in favor of the propriertary PCAP mounts, although it might as well mount the rails and factory railed versions exist. While it was rejected by the U.S., it found adoption in the Malaysian Naval Forces.


Another old WiP. I figured this reload animation would fit a G36 with an extended magazine release, which is also a feature of for the XM8. Since this is a futuristic model, I decided that iron sights would be boring and it needed some kind of futuristic sight. The Tracker Sight (called "rangefinder" in the files) has what appears to be a (rangefinder) laser, so I didn't have to use the AN/PEQ-15.
