Shave the Fish: MSG Saberfish

A classic case of “I forgot these existed.”

In another time and place, warfare was fundamentally altered by the existence of certain mobile systems. Aircraft were rendered functionally obsolete, as tanks with legs and arms and their associated flight systems matured and gradually became the face of combat. Aircraft as we knew it would see use as little more than glorified target practice, even when mustered to serve as defensive forces.

This is not that time and place.

Now you can fly the Federation Saberfish — in both atmospheric and space-going form — in the sort of target rich environment it was bred for without getting sniped by some lucky Zaku I from above.


FF-S3 Saberfish
Federation space capable fighter plane. Fitted with a combined booster and missile pack, the Saberfish is more than capable of punching above its own weight, although its agility in atmosphere leaves much to be desired.

Top and right slots have 6 hardpoints rather than the usual 2 and 1. Bottom slot is for the Saberfish's 4x gunports.


FF-3 Saberfish
Atmospheric version of the Saberfish without the boosters, trading away the booster pack's additional speed and armaments for much-improved agility and engine response.

The rightmost slot has been fitted with 4x hardpoints to simulate the aircraft’s cannons.


BONUS: FF-X7 Core Fighter
Derived from Hervic’s FF-6 TIN Cod aerospace fighter, the FF-X7 is a combination cockpit module and escape pod for the MS of the Federation’s V Project. Lightly armed, the Core Fighter is nonetheless a competent forward scout and air-to-air combatant in its own right, and it can also mount a booster pack for extended standalone operations.

Rightmost slot is intended for guns, mounting 4x hardpoints.
