alr im back again for the fifth time, ive figured out a duct tape solution for the regular subtitles (not ez2s subtitles) not appearing, so i found out the gameinfo for ez2 has "game+mod+addon" for the hl2, episodic, ep2 folders inside entropy zero 2 meaning that if you'd add something in the custom folder inside these, they can work as custom mods, so i decided to put the default closecaptions that were inside these folders in resource into the custom folder they have and that somehow made it work, hell it actually works for mods like hl2 mmod too.

Apologies for rambling on, source spaghetti can make a man go crazy.

nevereverevereverevereverevermind. its because of the goddamn "sound.cache" file the mods make that break captions, and it makes me wanna go crazy trying to understand source spaghetti like its trying to kill me.

nevermind, its because of the custom folder is why the captions break, for some strange reason

i have found out why the ep1 + ep2 citizen lines arent subtitled for me, it was apparently caused because of the amount of addons, yes, if you have 23 addons and download more beyond that, the captions will break for 0 reason.

EZ2 should have episodic captions loaded too so there's no reason for them to not show up

unrelated, but why do the ep1 and ep2 lines for citizens/rebels not have subtitles in ez2, makes it inconsistent with the other subtitled lines they have, unless if its somehow a problem that i caused with my game files.
