(RBM) Realistic Battle Mod

Beskrivelse
We have released public version of RBM for War sails. Given how much time and labour it took as to make RBM and to maintain it any time TW does a patch and casual code refactor, we have decided to create Patreon account with paid membership, this membership will A) support our effort, B) give you access to the beta, both current and future, C) voting on priority of our development focus and discussing ideas about the mod. Price is set to 5 dollars a month. Consider this a support + beta play testing access. Google "Realistic Battle Mod Patreon" if you are interested, the Patreon will be split between both me and Fellow.

This mod makes combat more realistic. Armour values are based on experimental data. Armoured units are more resistant to damage depending on weapon type used vs armour. Each weapon type has different effect vs armour. All units defend themselves more, units with shields actually use the shields. All projectiles now cause damage based on their kinetic energy. Kinetic energy of projectiles is result of simulation based on real life experimental data. All battles are significantly longer now. Damage of horse charge is physics based, couched lancing is scientifically accurate. AI armies use more tactics. Spears are buffed in melee in comparison to vanilla and much more. Arenas are more fair, more rewarding and have multiple stages of progress. Many castles and towns have improved defender positions. Units fight in formations instead of messy clump. Your weapon type affects general behaviour such as armour penetration, weapon quality affects properties such as sharpness. Your raw damage is primarily determined by your character combat skill, relative speed and body part you hit. Hitting armour weak-spots have huge impact.

Features:
The mod contains multiple modules (Combat, AI and Arena) and settings (active only if their respective module is active which can be toggled on / off in the game main menu.

If the game does not load / crash on startup try going to "\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\261550\2859251492\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client" and enable (right click, properties) all .dll files in that folder, Windows can sometimes disable them.

If you struggle with battle loading screen on linux, just install dotnet472 via protontricks (wine and winetricks are also required). just find app id with protontricks -s bannerlord and install it like this:
protontricks 123123(appid) -q --force vcrun2017 dotnet472 gdiplus

It's an awesome must have mod for me but the way it screws up economy in inflating simple junk from looters like x5-10 of vanilla price cause of modded stats making game financially like lotto win each market visit.

So I loaded a save game that had RBM previously and suddenly I can use it in new sandbox starts. Might be a way around the issue :steamhappy:

Where should RBM go in for the load order with warsails? Im having an issue where my arrows are not showing up with the compound bows.
I Stole Your Sweetroll For 4 timer siden
Causing random crashes in game and when I disable it, I can't even load any of my saves that had it enabled.

First off, I love this mod, but, I think it needs a slight tweak with how it interacts with stealth missions. As it is, stealth is impossible if the opponent has a shield, since the shield will stop all backstabs to vital areas, and any stabs that go through deal very little damage. while it is realistic that the small knives we have won't go through much armour, I do think it needs a bit of a tweak since we can't exactly go for precision stabs in this game.

@beer_catt totally agree. People have no idea how much effort modders put in. Especially for a game as unstable as bannerlord with updates that are so badly implemented that they sometimes require entire rewrites to make something work again.
And people complaining that the steam version updates are the worst. Steam workshop is just a terrible modding platform because it doesn't allow for multiple versions of a mod to be available. If you want to be certain your game stays the way it is install mods via Nexus. And don't go complaining about an update or lack thereof. Especially if the thing you're complaining about is as easily fixed as by just clicking the link in the description here on steam.

@velafar
Crossbows irl don't shoot very far. Even modern compound crossbows aren't shooting over 50m when flat. In the 13th century a crossbow wouldn't shoot further than 20m and lose penetrating power extremely fast.
Bows have a longer range but are more difficult to use and have less penetrating power. They however do keep their speed and penetrating power for longer which is why a longbow at 200lbs would penetrate on longer distances than a heavy stir up crossbow with 500lbs draw.

Both would tickle a knight in lamellar from 50m but a crossbow could penetrate easily up close. A bow on the other hand wouldn't penetrate either way.

The mod does a very good job of simulating their power.

Javelins on the other hand are indeed a little weak but not far from realism. Again against lamellar it's not penetrating. But someone in mail would get absolutely messed up.
