New Characters

Mordus
Mordus is a rogue specialising in Geomancy. His talent Sadist allows you to deal 10% additional damage with Melee depending on the status applied to your target. It can hit up to 30% with poisoned, bleeding and burning. The bonus damage will be the element of the status. He is able to use Bull Rush and Sawtooth Knife to set bleeding, Poison Wave and Contamination to set poisoned and Wind-Up Toy and the Ignition scroll to set burning.

Delorus
Delorus makes use of skills that were previously unused in Arena Mode. He has access to Skyshot which on top of high ground damage, it will negate the low ground penalty. He has Barrage which can be effective at dealing with totems or finishing off low HP characters. He also comes with Glitter Dust to deal with dodge and invisibility. It will also remove the high ground bonus on the target affected as well as the low ground penalty for the attacker. He can make use of Searing Daggers to detonate his Fire Trap and create a surface for Elemental Arrowheads. He comes equipped with a Peace of Mind scroll and a Fire Arrow.

Kerban
Kerban makes use of the talent Gladiator to perform a counter attack when you are hit with Melee. Similar to the Sadist talent, the list of skills that trigger Gladiator are quite limited. He can use Jellyfish skin to bleed Electrified Blood which has the potential to stun melee attackers. Kerban has skills which allows him to be immune to environmental damage and provides additional utility to his team with Tentacle Lash and Bull Horns scrolls. Gladiator currently triggers on: All In, Auto Attacks, Crippling Blow, Flurry, Mortal Blow, Onslaught, Overpower and Whirlwind.

Sadha
Sadha is a close range summoner that fights along side her Dragonling. She has the tools to keep herself and her Dragonling alive. Sadha will enable the Dragonling to stay alive and cure CC while the Dragonling can set Sadha up to deal additional damage with Firebrand and Burning for her Spontaneous Combustion. Sadha comes equipped with a staff and Warfare skills to allow her to be effective in close range. She can also keep herself and the team mobile with Planar Gateway.

The Advocate
The Advocate is a Two Handed Knight that uses Necromancy and Aerotheurge. His kit is full of mobility to close the gap between you and your target. You collect source for Vacuum Aura which can be a huge pain for enemy mages. Blinding Radiance can set blind on anybody close to you without magic armour. These combined will encourage your target to run out of your aura range which will trigger your talent Opportunist. He can restore his armour with Bone Cage and Demonic Stare.

Chtylchia, Mistress of Agony
Chtylchia is a close range mage with Magic Cycles that specialises in AoE spells. You utilise Spread Your Wings and Favourable Wind to close the gap and collect source which will allow you to cast Close Circuit or Flaming Skin. Depending on your source and your Magic Cycle, you will have to decide which source ability will be more beneficial to you in that situation. Enemies will be encouraged to run away from you which is why she has Flaming Tongues to punish those that run away or those that approach you.

Isbeil
Isbeil is a dwarf with the Sturdy talent that uses Geomancer and Polymorph spells. Her kit makes use of being in close range with Petrifying Touch and Poison Wave. She has Tactical Retreat and Bull Horns to help close the gap along with Heart of Steel to sustain. Poison Skin and Poison Wave can be used for 200% poison resistance which will enable her to heal from poison. As she will be in the thick of the action, she can make use of Dust Blast which will throw dust at anybody in range which will blind them for two turns. She also has a Potion of Strong Will which can help the team against Magic CC and Taunt.

Gratiana
Gratiana is a Necromancer that also uses Hydrosophist. She already existed in the engine in a near complete state so I enabled her and made a few tweaks. She is a Necromancer with Elemental Affinity so you are encouraged to stand in blood. She can also make use of Decaying Touch, Blood Sucker and Blood Rain to make a huge play. She is very useful against a magic damage focused team with her Arcane Stitch and Armour of Frost. She also carries a Water Balloon and a Razzle Dazzle Grenade.

Mummie Dearest
Mummie is a melee character that uses warfare and hydro skills. She is designed to sustain against magic teams with her Soothing Cold and Mass Cleanse Wounds. She can also restore her health and armour if she wins a Challenge. She also comes with a Armour of Frost scroll to aid the team. She is able to set Frozen with Deep Freeze and Global Cooling. She is the only non-shield character to have Guardian Angel. Her abilities will allow you to restore the damage you took for your team.

Roost Anlon
Roost is a slow character with high initiative. He can sustain his physical armour with Heart of Steel and Oily Carapace. Roost can create oil surfaces at will with his Earthquake spell which can be used to slow the enemy with Terrain Transmutation or to give himself physical armour. His Soul Wolf can serve as a distraction for the enemy team as it can Taunt. Roost has higher natural dodge than the rest of the cast which will allow him to survive against weapon users. His Fortify scroll can help keep himself or the team alive and his Bull Horns and Blitz Attack helps him close the distance.

The Shadow Prince
The Shadow Prince is a Rogue with the Executioner talent. He thrives against teams that use totems due to his Throwing Knife ability. He is able to punish shield users with his Chemical Warfare Grenade as the Diseased status will take away the Constitution needed to equip a shield. He also has Smoke Cover which can be used to break line of sight, set up invisibility with Bless or suffocating with Curse.

Tovah
Tovah uses a mix of Necromancer and Geomancer skills. She can wall of targets with Living Wall and damage them with her Ooze Spray and Contamination. She can slow enemies from a distance with her Fossil Strike and can provide a damage buff to her team with Death Wish. She has the Soulcatcher talent which will summon a zombie if an ally dies within range of her. She can also sacrifice herself to bring back an ally which will destroy the zombie.

Steam is not allowing me to update the description so i'll put this here:

If you have multiple character mods then I recommend installing Arena Character Select UI Expanded which removes the soft cap of the amount of arena characters you can have.

I don't have any plans currently to add anymore characters to this mod as I feel I've covered everything.

There's still unused combos like Pyro/Hydro and Aero/Geo but I feel like they would play the same as the current mages: go high ground and cast AoE damage spells. There were plans at one point to add a Pyro Rogue with sparks but the issue with that build was that it just made Lucian and Kniles irrelevant.

One of my comments below links to another arena character mod which is compatible with this one.

There may be a possibility to add more characters in the future depending on if I can think of anything creative.

I haven't seen Burning Touch as a skill for players (which is why it didn't come to mind) but that sounds good.

I think I'd replace Supernova with Burning Touch as it's a spell none of the other characters have. It also makes Supernova unique to Chtylchia.

I wouldn't give Sadha Dominate Mind as her damage output is crazy enough thanks to the summon, burning and Spontaneous Combustion.

I do appreciate the reply. I also appreciate the extra add on content link, I didn't know about this other mod.

You explaining why you made your characters the way they are has taught me new ways play as them, especially Mordus and Roost as they are my most difficult characters to use. That's actually pretty wild you can split source puddles, I didn't know that.

As far as Sadha you can either replace Supernova skill with Fire Whip . I think it would be nice to blind people when you burn their magic armor off. If you want to really be wild you can replace Crippling Blow with Dominant Mind but I would understand if you choose not to switch them.

For extra inventory items for some characters I will hold on that thought and take these new strategies to my next game session and see if any different ideas come to mind.

I've only played the unreleased version so I'm not sure how much has changed since the release.

As for me making new characters I'm not really sure what else to add that isn't already in the existing cast. I am open to suggestions though!

Mummie
My favourite pick against Slane. I generally kept to two hard CC's per character for their non source skills. For Mummie it's Deep Freeze and Global Cooling. I really do not like chain CC. As she has Living Armour, I did not want to give her more than 115 magic armour as Alexandar in vanilla had 183 with Living Armour which made him frustrating to take down.

Isbeil
One of my favourites to play. She used to have a Poison Slug summon which turned out to be impossible to balance. I don't plan to change her from Geo/Poly as I feel her kit synergies really well with itself. I also want to avoid giving her more ranged abilities than she already has since the vanilla cast is already dominated with ranged casters.

What kind of items would you like to see on the additional characters? When we designed them, we kept in mind the items other characters had and wanted to avoid duplicate items.

Roost
It's his Terrian Transmutation which allows for some crazy plays. This skill can split source puddles, allowing your team access to a lot more source than normal. His Soul Wolf is basically a global range Taunt. His physical armour is fine as he has Heart of Steel.

Advocate
Designed to be a nuisance to mages with all of his silencing skills. I kept his armour values in line with the other melee characters (in the rebalance).

Sadha
What would you replace these skills with? I would like to avoid giving ranged abilities.

Mordus
I didn't want to give him The Pawn as I didn't want just another Lohar. I also didn't want to give him Gag Order or Terrifying Cruelty as Kniles has them. Kniles is a pretty weak character so I didn't want to give players more reasons to not play him. It's the reason none of the new characters have Shackles of Pain. Venom Aura can reach juicy levels of damage with backstabs. Especially with all the Sadist procs on top of that. The idea is to choose when you want to engage. Do you want to stay out of the fight a few turns gathering source and buffing or engage right away but not have your full damage potential? It's a risk/reward thing.

Kerban
He used to have Bouncing Shield but then the dominate way to play him was to jump to high ground and cast. He was very one dimensional. With the rebalance mod, Gladiator is fixed and will trigger on EVERY melee attack.
