Ever notice items disappearing from your vehicle? Stuff gone from your truck? Junk diappear from your car?

This mod puts a stop to that.

The chances in vanilla aren't high and depend on a number of factors, but it's pretty realistic in concept. While this is pretty neat, and realistic, it also seems like without a sound effect or something it's impossible to know it happened, leading you to think items just disappeared. In multiplayer this could lead to those items disappearing because of the item removal from floor system being on, or else random items littered all over with time, contributing to lag.

Future Plans

If there is interest, could make a version with configurable multiplier for drop chance, drop chance higher for lighter items (e.g., papers blow away easily) and sound effects playing when items escape the trunk. Let me know if there's interest!

had the thing that this mod stops happen once in vanilla it does play a sound for the driver and it only seemed to happen to low condition trailers for some reason

I always wondered if the game would make you lose things if you had your trunk open, yet despite leaving them open all the time I've never had it happen! So thank you for that info

It would certainly help if there was a noise/actual animation to the cars themselves to show its open :D

Omg. Never noticed or knew this ridiculous system was in place. As a driver i could say that it is totally unrealistic for stuff to randomly fly away from the trunk even with a lid open. Unless it's something light like paper or plastic bags or you are driving over some incredibly rough terrain with open trunk. But even then you'll hear trunk lid slapping and go to close it. This game never stops delivering some surprises with unreasonable systems halfassed and left forgotten. xD

@Master-Bates It does, though - if the trunk lid has any damage, *or* the trunk has any damage, even with an installed trunk lid and it being closed. As well there are vehicles with no trunk lid, like pickup trucks, etc..
