King Harald's Library

There has been a robbery at King Harald's Library. The librarian is missing and many books have been stolen. Can you solve the mystery and help fill the library's empty shelves?

This mod adds a library to the city of Windhelm that can be used as a player home or simply a place for all those books you've collected during your time as the Dovakiin.

The entrance to the library is in the passage between the palace and the Aretino residence. See the screenshots above.

Features:
*Totally vanilla. No DLCs or other mods required, only an up to date version of Skyrim
*Open storage for over 400 books in the interactive bookshelves (more if you use Da5id2701's mod Unlimited Bookshelves
*Unlimited safe book storage in bookcases
*All containers are safe (non-respawning) including some labeled storage (smithing, alchemy, enchanting, etc.)
*Three new NPCs. Two are merchants (smithing & alchemy) and one is a bard.
*Master bed give the Well Rested effect.
*Three unused beds for your followers or children **if you use another mod to move your family**
*All crafting stations (smithing, alchemy, enchanting, cooking)
*Shrines for blessing and disease curing
*Some open weapon and armor storage (mannequin, 2 weapon racks, 4 weapon plaques, 4 weapon display cases) not too many as this IS a library not an armory.
*Roleplaying features: garderobe, bath, logical clutter
*Secret exit (requires key)

The mystery:
*Two letters can be found in the main room that give a bit of background and clues to help you find the missing librarian.
*One locked door and several locked storage items require the librarian's key. You'll need to find him to get the key.

Spoiler:
The librarian is underwater at the Windhelm docks. He should be near a robber's book sack under the water at the East end of the docks. Take a waterbreathing potion with you, he tends to float under the ice. Console users: the key is named "KHLGregorsKey"

FAQs:
Q:Will you make it so that I can move my family?
A: Nope. Sorry, that requires scripting and editing the game more than I am comfortable with. BUT I use Custom Family Home by VitchRazor to move my Hearthfires family and highly recommend it. I've included personal chests near each bed and a practice dummy that make using Custom Family Home easier.

Q: Where are the oven, apiary, fishery, etc?
A: Sorry, those features require the Hearthfires DLC and I wanted this mod to be available to everyone.

Q: Why is there no fast travel marker?
A: The entrance is very close to the fast travel marker for the palace. I didn't want to crowd the area. Use the palace fast travel point please.

Q: Isn't there already a library mod for Windhelm?
A: Yes, there is! And it looks really cool. But I think there is room for many interpretations of similar themes in the Skyrim modding community. Here is a link to the mod you may be referencing: The Library of Windhelm[www.nexusmods.com] by Nahkin

Note: This mod alters the passage in Windhelm between the palace and the bridge behind the Aretino residence and may conflict with other mods that do the same.
