Ricky Starks

Ricky Starks began to make a name for himself in the NWA and saw his role grow on Power and NWA PPVs in 2019 and 2020. Starks became the inaugural NWA World Television champion in early 2020, but left the company shortly after dropping the belt a few months later.

Starks made his AEW debut within a month of leaving the NWA, falling short in an open challenge for the TNT Championship. He signed with the company and became a member of Team Taz.

As a member of Team Taz, Starks regularly teamed with Powerhouse Hobbs. On his own, he captured the FTW Championship from stablemate Brian Cage and held the unsanctioned title for over a year.

In July 2022, after losing the FTW Championship to Hook, Starks was attacked by Hobbs, igniting a feud between the former partners and firmly establishing Starks as a babyface.
