Quonset huts are small steel based prefabricated structures which originated in the USA in the WW2 era. They are quick and easy to construct, and require only 4.1 tons of steel to build. They were designed in 1941 by a team of engineers at Quonset Point Naval Air Station in Rhode Island, where they got their name. These huts are a great choice for early game construction colonies, military bases, remote arctic outposts, prison areas, and more! They can be packed together quite tightly to form efficient pop-up settlements.

I have enabled self-heating (wood burning stove) so that these can be used as temporary housing, but you can always build a heating plant if you prefer. There is also a mod with several skins. This is the smaller standard size of Quonset Hut (20x48 foot). There is also a larger size one that I may do later if people want.

This is my first building mod for Soviet, and I hope to make more, so please kindly report any bugs and enjoy

What about a bigger version of this hut?
I want to build a worker's settlement in the Siberian taiga. This construction is ideal, but I lack a larger model to organize a clinic, police, fire station, shops and other infrastructure there.
I would be very grateful if I could get few more different sizes.

In my city none of these were ever repurposed into housing, however many hundreds ended up as auto repair shops, flea markets, workshops, industrial buildings, and commercial stores.

Thanks Minister of Wolves, yes, I have considered that I could make them some storages and/or parkings. I also considered making the larger size Q hut. Right now I'm making something different but I may revisit this! Enjoy :steamhappy:

Would love it if you made this into DO, CO, Storage, and a few other facilities that I can not think of at the moment. Love this mod. US Army still uses these in Korea for some bases. Love this mod!
