Billy Red Lyons wrestled across multiple NWA territories in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. He won tag gold in the USA, Canada, and Japan in addition to holding the NWA Texas Heavyweight, NWA American Heavyweight, and AWA British Empire Heavyweight titles on his own.

After retiring from in-ring competition, Lyons worked for Maple Leaf Wrestling before working as an announcer and interviewer for the WWF.
