ACV / BUT Lightweight Railcar

This mod features the ACV/BUT Lightweight Railcars. The Demonstrator unit was built in 1952 to show off the capabilities on the DMU/Railcar. It was out shopped in Two-Tone Grey with a red stripe along its body in between the two greys, and the seating inside was of a strawberry pink colour.

The Demonstrator unit was trialled up and down the country, from Marylebone, Ayr, Hull, Birmingham, Epping, Stanmore, Allhallows-on-Sea and finally the St. Albans to Watford Junction line, were the BR London Midland Region brought it up, alongside 8 new Production Units.

Here the Demonstrator and Production units would operate on the line until 1959, only being used in cases of extreme emergency, which just so happened to occur every sunday since mid-November, 1958. The sets were brought on and off the line up until 1961, when the final operational set had failed.

They would be swiftly superseded by the BR Class 103s.
