Texas Central GP30u Pack (OUTDATED)

This is a pack of 12 Texas Central EMD GP30u locomotives 6 clean and 6 weathered, they are in TC's Firebird scheme which has served as TC's primary livery since the mid 70s.

44 of these units were built for Texas Central from January 1963 - November 1963, they sport AAR type B trucks rather than the standard Blomberg trucks as Texas Central traded in their recently retired Alco FA-1 units to EMD so the trucks could be reused. In the mid 80's Texas Central took part in the Santa Fe's GP30 rebuild program, the aging 567D3 engines were upgraded to a 2500-horsepower rating by the use of 645-series power assemblies, as well as the generators, traction motors upgraded and electrical equipment.

These upgraded GP30u units went back into service in 1984, and have served in light freight service ever since.
