Dira'phon (Distant Footer)

Lore:
Tall lumbering herbivores from the Tr'allanga home wold's sub terrain swamps.

These animals roam in herds; feeding on various leaves, plants, glowing fruits and fungi.

Dira'phon are prey to large predators; but are able to defend themselves using their 3 armoured legs; each one able to deliver a powerful kick to deter or even kill predators.

Dira'phon have a lifespan of 25-30 years and become sexually mature adults at 7 years old.

Regarding reproduction; Dira'phon herds will meet up during the summer; males from both groups using unique mating dances to get the attention of females from the other group.

Females will choose a male they like the moves of.

After choosing a male, the two mate and the female will join his herd

Around 3-4 months later; the female will make a nest in an area with dry dirt; lay her eggs and take turns guarding it with her male; each one taking shifts so the other can eat and rest.

6 months later; the eggs will hatch into new born Dira'phon; which can walk immediately after birth.

The parents will continue to protect their children for 4 years; after that their big enough to defend themselves.

Also; the male and female will stay together after mating for the rest of their lives and will often mate multiple times.
