Space Cowboy. ☆ I concur with essentially everything you said. As a matter of fact, Larry Vickers' Colt 723 was among direct inspirations for my classic AR series that Қatka delivered so flawlessly. To tell you the truth - originally I just didn't like the modern AR's sight picture, too cramped by all the additional stuff. And then I entered the AR modular black hole. I came back out knowing someone has to make those here and it might just as well be me. Hail the Carry handle master race. :D

Jarvis Knows how much I like the classic wood guns. Latest M14's, MAS 49 and FAL are also my doing. Enjoy.

Classic AR's just work man, something about those clean lines of theirs is just pure joy to me, can't really put it into words. And as classy and beautiful as they are they also have a really aggresive aesthetic to them as well. You look at something like Larry Vicker's Car-15, and you immediately get that feeling of "this is a gun that gets things done, this is an effective gun".
I also LOVE all the ingenuity and creative methods they used to customize their gear back in the day. (Hose clamps, all that tape everywhere, paracord, the works) it just adds that extra layer to the whole thing, everything put on those had purpose and thought behind it. They were basically living in the 2010-20's back in the 70-90's and it never ceases to amaze me how ahead of the curve those guys were.

Indeed! That’s why I commissioned all of them, in their magnificent variety. Classic AR’s have that unique feeling of new age guns but not futuristic, “tacticool” rifles of our day. They are slick, thin and deadly, elegant in a way more modern firearms are not. They got style. And a clear sight picture.

In all seriousness though, they're making a comeback for a reason, the platform has basically gone full circle at this point. Delta guys were dropping bodies left and right with carry handles back in the day with frightening efficiency, the original design is just that solid.

I keep getting back into this game from time to time almost entirely because of your mods, they're really something else, especially those old school AR's.

Reject flat tops and silly skyscraper mounts and return to carry handle.

Now if only there were some good gooseneck mount models...

There were versions of the MkIV available in .455, though less prevalent that the .38/200 model. The frame on the MkVI is substantially larger, so much so that the reload method shown in the video isn't possible with a MkVI.
