Ah, I see now. Admittedly that's the only thing I didn't try, because normally you can't open vents with the E key. Imo it could've been made a little clearer, but I was able to vent around like the imposter in Among Us. Thanks! :terminated:

Wrong; the locked door is purely for cosmetic. The ladder takes you to a vent that can be opened with the E key. If the chapter truly had a dead end, the game would log an error that it can't find the safe room in the chat

After the lift takes you up in the Vents chapter, there's nothing you can do to progress. You're stuck. The only door is locked, you can't shoot through it, the only vent you have is a dead end, and the ladder only takes you above the room with the locked door.
