Level 1 is very similar to Level 0, though with a few major differences. Few stay alive in The Backrooms long enough to reach Level 1. The trigger to reach this level is seemingly completely unpredictable. At any point in The Backrooms after at least 4 days, there is a chance the lights will begin to flicker on and off. Eventually, the lights will turn off for minutes or hours at a time. While the lights are off, this level is very dangerous.

Interactions with beings in this level are very common, and they are more non-humanoid. They will usually come near when the lights are off, and they are close when you can hear distorted noises nearby, usually resembling screaming. Strange noises other then the beings are more common here as well, like rumbling of machinery and creaking sounds in adjacent rooms.

Escape hear is still possible through the exit points.

This level covers an unknown amount of square miles, though predicted to be at least 1 millon.

this once used to be the level 1 of the backrooms instead of going into a parking lot you enter a version of level 0 but its dark
