AS OF THE NEWEST UPDATE THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN REMOVED BY THE DEVELOPERS
Easy Peasy
Making the bodies stick around is easy peasy. Right-click on your game in your steam library, and click browse local files. From there, follow this filepath: Starship Troopers - Terran Command\Starship Troopers_Data\StreamingAssets\Data. Once there, you should see a file called variables.txt. Open it up with notepad, or notepad++, and at the bottom should be two variables, unitSinkTime, and unitSinkSpeed. Change the value of both to be 0. Congratulations, you did it!

This is what the developer told:
This feature was removed as it was no longer supported with the optimization changes.

With the August 26 update, here we go again! I set the unit sink times in variables.txt to zero and made it a read only file but the units still sink. I am at a loss as to what to do to make the corpses stay.

@LowFatMilk
Thanks for the heads up. I was going to reenable this feature, but now, I'll just wait until I got all the achievements.

Something to bear in mind; editing any of the game files including these sink speeds will disable achievements. I know not every cares, but for those who do, if you're not unlocking achievements and edited these files, that's why. Which is a shame because I loved stacking up the bug corpses

Has anyone had any luck setting the value to anything besides the default values and 0? I've tried various values for the sinktime, and even when setting it to 500 it seems to revert to 25.

0 Works fine but I had a longer mission (also watching a movie on 2nd monitor) that dragged on and it ended up affecting performance later.

For a less performance risky approach you could also change "unitSinkTime" to 100, 200 or 500. That way you can admire the battlefield but after moving on the corpses can despawn without having to stay during the whole mission tanking your fps

@Mr Carmine - From my game files:

unitSinkTime = 25
unitSinkSpeed = 0.001

Iron_man I had zero issues with desync/freeze, you most likely will experience frame drop. Carmine I don't know the original values, but if you validate the integrity of the game files it would probably restore it.

does the game desync or freezes if change the value?
