Khelian Race

Khelians are a well-mannered race of humanoid sea turtles. They find themselves congregating near rivers and the ocean and build simple huts out of wood or mud. Many of these small fishing communities dotted the landscape until the Age of Ice where those Khelian's who hadn't outright died went into a deep hibernation. When they awoke after the thaw, they found their homes in ruin, and the landscape vastly different. Many chose to seek out new settlements or to try and rebuild their homes.

These people are peaceful and enjoy their long lives catching fish and learning about new things. They prefer to be closer to nature, living near water and within wooden structures. While their hide and shell provide very good natural defenses for combat, the peaceful nature of these people cause them to have a hesitancy towards conflict, and would rather remain at home, though if a call to arms is necessary, they provide excellent defensive coverage from arrow barrages and charges.

Khelians love fish above all other foods, but do enjoy fruits and vegetables when they are around. Their slow nature grants them a longer lifespan, though they do tend to want to sleep more often than not because of it. Births can also be quite long as well as when a Khelian child reaches adulthood. Though when they do one can expect an excellent member of society for well over 100 years.
