Introducing the ONRC - ‘Reaper’ - Fast Attack Craft

"Often seen escorting larger warships, or civilian vessels across the stars, the Reapers act as fast, small and manoeuvrable screening platforms that can easily dispatch smaller targets whilst remaining in a protective range of larger vessels. Whilst not as bulky or as heavily armed as the 'Frontier' class patrol boats, often such armaments were not required, and could be better used in the more turbulent environments around the system. As such, reapers are more often seen far within ONRC territory, defending dockyards and unarmed vessels, than in active battlefields. Due to the similarities, some have opted refer to these ships as 'Little frontiers', or more commonly, the frontiers as 'grim reapers' - both fitting terms to describe their place in the growing fleets defending the system. "

The 'Reaper' features 1 Rocket Launcher, 4 Interior Turrets and 2 Gatling Turrets for weaponry. Also present are 2 small hydrogen tanks, 1 O2/H2 generator, 1 small reactor, 1 assembler, 1 beacon, 2 cockpits, 1 bed, 1 survival kit and 1 small cargo container.

Additionally, a retractable connector at the stern is present for easier docking. The FAC features a mixture of Hydrogen and Ion thrust, with H2 in all directions, and Ion in the forward and reverse directions. The interior features an exposed and protected cockpit, a survival kit, armoury and bed and is fully pressurized - however no airlock is present so the whole ship must be vented.

The Reaper is classed as a Fast Attack Craft as it is physically the smallest large grid ship in my fleet, and does not possess the weaponry to be capable gunboat or corvette - even with the 'light' designation. I also already have a patrol boat which does a better job, at a longer range than the Reaper so equally that would not fit either.

I've been meaning to release an updated version of a few of my older builds for a while now, but haven't had the motivation to actually get them set up and published. The only reason I came on was because it would be a shame to not publish given it was pretty much completed anyway.

I'm hoping to make some new ONRC ships in the future, however this will depend on how much time I have, and if I still have the motivation to keep making builds on the steam workshop.
