@Antekcz 2 years late and I'm sorry that I have to be a smart@$$ now, but German police vehicles (often used by the highway police) have an additional blue light what can be raised, called "telescopic blue light", the use is the same as the Japanese ones

@Osacania Thanks, in Europe police cars don't do this, this is why I was confused.

@Antekcz Japanese police cars can raise their light bars to make them more visible from a distance.

Thats very interesting, why do the light bars lift like that?
