The Phoebe Snow

In 1949, the DL&W, better known as the Lackawanna, had the first run of it's flagship streamliner train, the Phoebe Snow. The train continued past the Erie merger, until it's cancellation in 1966 by the Erie Lackawanna. It was a short dayliner that ran from the Lackawanna terminal in Hoboken, NJ, to Buffalo, NY, with sleeper car service to Chicago via the Nickle Plate's "Nickle Plate Limited."

Though it's life was short, it's impact was not, being touted with having some of the friendliest staff, and luxurious dining car experiences.
