描述
The UT8M2 is a upgrade to the UT8M1 Escutcheon IV tank. The first upgrade since the tank's introduction. Improvements include a better recoil absorption for more accurate follow on shots. To do this, the electronic components was streamlined so it takes up less space. Most noticeably, the tank features the addition of the new Parvus Guard hardkill active protection system, a derivative development of the Iron Guardian C-RAM system. It can only intercept a single missile at a time and so is easily saturated. However it has a near 100% interception rate and serve as an additional layer of defense for the tank although quite pricey. Nonetheless, the Parvus Guard hardkill system is a significant improvement compared to Khertland's previous two generations of APS. More importantly the tank has improved HEAT and kinetic protection. Particularly, the front turret side is now covered with new ERA blocks for added protection when engaging against multiple targets. The total upgrade package adds an additional 3.5k to the unit cost for a total of 24.5k per tank. The army considered this as acceptable but still sizable increase in cost, however the improvements are seen as worthwhile.

I quickly rigged a HESH spewing gun but didn't find the tank particularly vulnerable to it. I already employ 2 layers of poles as spaced armor. I'm curious to see what you used against it. Well HESH seem to eat HA armor quite quickly but I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do

I feel that. The only way I've found to efficiently avoid EMP is air-gapped armor, which is rather hard to jam into tanks in FTD.

I'll be quite frank, I have no idea how to effectively counter EMP. On the UT8M1 I used stone outer layer but learned that EMP doesn't care about insulation anymore, or at least in any meaningful effect. And surge protectors are just really expensive and half the time don't seem to attract the EMP away from vitals.

A good looking tank, but it's notably weak to HESH and EMP even as low as 120mm.

Damn, I wish I could make land anything as good as the rest of you guys.
