Lore:
A species of star fish from the Tr'allanga home world's sub-terrain oceans; they survive by feeding on sponges, coral and carcasses, using a special tube mouth that grinds up its food like a cheese grater.

This species is related to the Tr'allanga home world's equivalent of star fish; but mimics the appearance of both crustaceans and sea snails to ward off potential predators.

But when threatened by predators who don't fall for their disguise; these starfish will cover their under belly using their armoured limbs until the predator loses interest or somehow manages to kill them.

These creatures have a life span of 30-35 years and reproduce once every 5 years by detaching their centre limb; which grows into a clone of the parent; this limb can regrow after being removed.

Fun Fact:
The Grip Star gets its name due to its resemblance to a hand.
