Billy Robinson

Billy Robinson was an elite technician proficient in catch wrestling who competed in Europe, Japan, Canada, and the US throughout his lengthy wrestling career.

Robinson got his start in his native England in 1955 and trained at Billy Riley's Snake Pit. He won the British and European Heavyweight Championships and held each for several years before vacating them and moving to North America.

In North America Robinson worked for Stampede Wrestling and the AWA. He held the AWA British Empire Heavyweight Title and appeared in the film The Wrestler.

In Japan, Robinson became popular for his technical and submission skills. He fought Antonio Inoki in 1975 in a fight billed as a match between the world's top technicians.
