Oh god, here we go again... You heard me right, Avalis in Space Engineers.

After a overwhelming amount of requests, and months of procrastination and development, I present the long overdue sequel to the Protogens in Space Engineers Mod, Avalis in Space Engineers. Another furry character in SE which I will regret making.

This is my second attempt on making a fully custom character. Unfortunately I do not plan on fully animating said models anytime soon. The methods I have taken would most likely require me to use either 3DS Max or Maya in order to "make" a fully capable SE Rig, which both require money.

Once again keep in mind that not alot of people had made a fully custom, let alone working armature/rig separate from the SE_DefaultRig so this is substantially harder than just re-texturing the astronaut.

Avali Character
A Avali Character that you can walk, and fly around with. Unfortunatly it is not fully animated due to software and time constraints. I currently do not plan on fully animating the character.

Known Issues:
- Character gets glitchy when trying to put down a item. This is something with the .hkt file which helps control animations.
- Character is very dark. This is because the model I have used somehow does not work well with the SE Lighting system. When I eventually update the character, it will use the same model as the blocks, which don't have said issue.

Note: No .blend files are included due to Author(s) requests. If you want to use the model, you have to get the model from the original website. The model files are .mwm which CANNOT be edited, or used in other applications such as VRChat. It can only be viewed and displayed in Space Engineers ingame, or using ModelViewer which is apart of the ModSDK.

I want to ask, you mentioned that attempting to use default animations broke the entire model, I was wondering if it still imported to game or not? Also was wondering if there was an actual way to use blender, a well known model editing software, to try and edit the model and fix it even a lil bit? Ofc you don't need to, and as you mentioned before you are quite busy with stuff. Either way thanks for the mod ^^

yes I know the model breaks but maybe it's more plausible to fix it than it is to give it custom animation?

I understand it's not financially feasible to make it properly animated but if you could try to duct-tape it to use awkward default animations I think a lot of people would prefer buggy animations/model to no animations...idk modeling so maybe I'm asking too much but I'd like to put it out there

I may have been a bit too brash, I get that way at times, and I do apologize for it. I didn't mean to be aggressive, that particular day I had gotten off work, had a stressfilled day, and thensome, came home to a message from a friend of mine saying someone made a 'Vali mod, checked it out and was met with mild disappointment...with everything prior to consider I sort of lost it.

I'm not exactly able to keep a level head these days I'm under constant stress even at home. I'm also frequently screamed at, which also doesn't help.

I’m also primarily a planet modder trying to branch out into different fields, as well.

Simply put: I cannot afford the money to get actual good/professional software to animate the mod, and I simply do not have time to animate the entire thing. I have also tried putting the SE_Default Rig & animation set on, however it lead to the entire model breaking.

Hopefully you understand why I released the mod in the current state, thank you.

I have released the mod anyways mainly because many people were keeping on asking me about it, (you can look at my profile page, and the Protogen Mod’s comments, of the people asking when it will be out.) and I simply couldn’t do the animations. It was a learning experience on my part on how more unknown aspects of SE Character modding works.

Besides, this entire series of mods started off as a joke. (As referenced in the Protogens mod). You don’t have to support me, im totally fine with that. I have also stated in the descriptions of both mods that I have not and WILL NOT plan on animating said characters. The cost for at least Maya is ~$225 a month, which put bluntly, I simply cannot afford. I have a life also, Once again, I’m not an animator and I am not intending to be one in the future, and if you do not like this mod, you can leave a dislike, I don’t really mind it. I have many more mods I made for Space Engineers and also different games on which you can choose from.
