UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE – this map has some issues with Tree Anarchy mod at the moment, you need to unsubscibe the mod before playing the map or it causes the game to crash.


Map is based on real world location, Joensuu region.

From Wikipedia: Joensuu, ”river's mouth” is a city and municipality in North Karelia, Finland, located on the northern shore of Lake Pyhäselkä at the mouth of the Pielinen River (Pielisjoki). It was founded in 1848. The population of Joensuu is 77,266 (December 31, 2021),
and the economic region of Joensuu has a population of 115,000.

Other larger river on the map is man-made Höytiäinen channel. There are two hydroelectric power plants (Kuurna and Puntarikoski).

Map has most of the real world infrastructure: 4 road (+ some of the main roads), air and 4 rail connections, 2 ship connections if I remember correct.

Map theme is designed to use with this type of flat-ish terrain and it has reasonable size textures (not everyone has too much RAM.

Map is intended for modded game play, such as 81 tiles, but it should be playable with vanilla rules. I have used Intersection Marking Tool mod and Node controller, I did not test how the map looks without them. Mods to use with the map:

I recommend this Hide it -setting: Hide shore area (to avoid dead trees near water and greener shores).

Nätti kartta, paljon rakentamis tilaa, itellä vaan heittää häränpyllyä nuo teemat, kun maa on tollanen vähän häiritsevän kirkas vihreä.. :steammocking:

Olen joskus harkinnut, mutta en löytänyt Viipurin alueelta (tai ylipäätään Venäjältä) riittävän tarkkoja harmaasävykarttoja, ja käsin realististen pinnanmuotojen teko olisi työlästä.

@ACanadianRailfan and @cvson02 - If you use Tree Anarchy mod, that is very likely causing the problem. If you have it, try unsubscribe it before load the map. It worked for me.

Olisihan nuo komeita rakennuksia ja rakennelmia, ja itselle tutumpi Harjavallan voimalaitos on kyllä joskus käynyt mielessä mallintaa. Pelin mekaniikan mukaan toiminnallisen padon tekeminen on sitten eri haaste, en ainakaan löytänyt assettia jossa esim. patovalli olisi suora, joten ei ehkä ilman modaustaitoja onnistu, eikä minulla ole osaamista tai kiinnostusta modauspuoleen.

Have you considered making any hydro plants such as the ones in Imatra or along Oulujoki? Olisi hienoa saada tähänkin peliin lisää vesivoimaloita.

This error message is not familiar to me... by googling the message it may indicate to corrupted save game or problem with the game ifself. You could try to unsubscribe the map and subscribe again if it helps, of maybe you use other incompatible mods, I have no better guess. There's no reports of unlisted assets here and there are 1486 subscribers already.

@prepo The map won't load for me, I installed everything. It says missing surrogate tail.
