JNR Series 10 Carriage

JNR Series 10 passenger coaches were first manufactured in 1955. They were influenced by Swiss lightweight coaches, which can be seen in the windows and body structure. By adopting an unprecedented structure, the Series 10 passenger car achieved a weight reduction of about 10 tons compared to conventional passenger cars, contributing to the increase in transportation capacity in the early days of Japan National Railways.
