Drop an AI Chip inside the expansion slot then connect a power source by wire to the outside or you can drop a battery or generator on the roof of the unit.

If you can figure out how to find the install folder then its easy to fix.
1. Go to Steam's Library Tab
2. right-click on People Playground
3. In the context menu (select) Manage -> Browse Local Files (File Explorer will now open)
4. Go into the folder named "CompiledModAssemblies"
5. Delete any file starting with "JohnnyTaco" You can safely delete anything in this "CompiledModAssemblies" folder. (this will fix any mod thats FUBAR)
6. Run the game

If you've added the chip to a person's head, or shot them with the syringe and you see no stats box and they're not doing anything except standing there, it might be an issue that happened regularly with the other mods. Sometimes when the mod is compiled after the update downloads, it then becomes corrupt.

Here's how to fix that issue:

1. Unsubscribe from this mod
2. Launch the game and load a map
3. Exit the game
4. Re-subscribe to the mod
5. After it downloads and installs, launch the game again

Another issue thats been confirmed by several people is there seems to be a conflict when using this mod with OCM. I haven't had the time to investigate this or try and patch it, but if you're having problems, you might have to disable one or the other for the time being
