For centuries people lived peacefully on planet Dygaan-7 -- but, as time passed and interstellar export from the planet grew, it attracted attention -- and not the good kind.

A widely-feared Mechanoid race, named C.E.M.E.N. (Capture. Enslave. Manufacture. Erase. Nullify) by it's rogue AI mastermind, desired the resources of the planet.

War raged for nearly a decade, with harsh resistance by the inhabitants of the planet; they dug deeper, logged farther, and farmed all the land that could be farmed; and subsequently began to exhaust the resources of the once-rich world.

Upon the final day, the AI mastermind scanned the planet once again as part of it's yearly routines, and found the resources of the planet to have dwindled drastically compared to it's original evaluation. Weighing the costs of the losses, and estimating the time to complete the invasion, decided it was in it's best interest to move on. Without warning, it fired its planet-killing beam.

And it was no more.
