Amtrak Northeast Corridor

The Siemens Charger is a family of diesel-electric passenger locomotives designed and manufactured by Siemens Mobility for the North American market. There are four models of Chargers: the SC-44 for state-supported inter-city services, the SCB-40 for Brightline inter-city service, the SC-42 for VIA corridor service, and the ALC-42 for Amtrak long distance service.

Amtrak 'Intercity' is a recent procurement project launched as a part of infrastructure bill which passed early this year. The plan is to replace all existing rolling stock on East Coast routes with Ventures and phase out Amfleet coaches. New trains are expected to be used on electrified NEC routes as well as non electrified lines. In order to achieve this, new trains will also feature a pantograph/battery car, that will power the train on electrified lines.

'Amtrak Intercity' project is planned to enter service in 2027.

Features

- NEC consist: 4 cars.
- ALC42 Phase6 Charger with Amfleet coaches.
- Modeled interior compartment, that is quite noticeable
- Interior lightning with Additive Shader (works between 18h00 to 07h00)
- Amfleet Coaches: Contains Regular, Business and restaurant coaches. Made by meshd.
- Can be assigned to train routes via IMT or transport line manager of your choice. Look for 'ALC42 Ph6(Vc) - Amtrak NEC'


Roadmap of Charger and Venture project

- I'll be continously publishing all variants of Charger and Venture family.
- Next update will focus on vehicle effect and sounds with the release of Brightline set.

Ditch lights and sounds will require assets to be published first, as the vehicle effect mod looks for steam ID of the assets. So instead waiting on these trains till i'm done with brightline, I decided to publish them 'mod-free'. Once brightline and thus Charger set is fully published, I'll roll effect update for all published trains which will add sounds and light effects

I am loving all these new trains you've been putting out. I'm excited for the Brightline trains!

I noticed that the new trains are missing the ditch lights (just the center headlights light up and no flashing lights)... are those able to be added at some point?
