I played through the whole map thinking that a patch to the game might have changed something but I didn't experience a single reset. The only time the balls reset is when you go out of bonds (in water or on the ground outside of the course). If you touch water and then bounce back on the course you also get reset, but thats just how water in this game works. It also resets on the "lift" in one of the later holes, but just to your last shot (unless you have some weird setting on). I tried the hole with the stairs a few times and still no reset. You probably hit the water and then back on the course, which is why you got reset back to the start. Or there is something wrong on your end, perhaps you're accidentally hitting the reset button?
If you can be more specific on what holes and where on the holes the ball resets I can check it out, until then there's nothing I can do unfortunately!
