So! Two options:

1) If you want the sphere gone entirely (so you can use the Tabletop Simulator background interface), just delete the control panel (and it'll automatically clean up the sphere).

2) Or, you can use the control panel to manage your custom images. To do so, right-click the control panel (not on any of the buttons), and into the Description field (bottom of the tooltip), paste the link to your background image. Then, click the Background button (mountain icon). That'll set the background). Then, right-click the control panel again and type a name for your background. Finally, make sure you're set to the Group in which you want to save the new button (using the single-arrow icons), and then click the Save button (disk icon).

If you get lost, this mod's instructions have some help, as do the various buttons on the control panel (right-click them and they'll put help text into the chat). You can also post here.

I hope that helps!

Hey, MrMarc! It's been a while, but here's what I remember: when I built the mod, there was no way to set the background environment image via script (i.e., with a control panel on the table). The workaround was to create a giant sphere and project the image on the inside. This works, but it means that while that sphere is in place, it's blocking your view of the original background (which is displayed outside the sphere). It appears I never added a button to disable the sphere entirely, so yes, as long as the Environment control panel (which creates and manages the giant sphere) is in your game, you won't be able to see the background that's set through the normal TTS interface.

Hey Mr. Ugly, I found a bug. After I use the Environment option, I can’t change the background anymore with the normal settings of the simulator. Is that how it’s supposed to work? And if yes, how can I upload new backgrounds into the game?

Hey there, Yvan88!

From your posts, I'm not sure I understood which part of the process is proving difficult. What you said is correct: right-click the control panel, paste the link to the HDRI image in the Description, then press the Background button. After that, make lighting changes that you would like (via the Options button at the top of the screen, in the Lighting section). When you're done, right-click the control panel again, type a name into the Description, then click the Save button.

If you have the image hosted somewhere, yup! Right-click the control panel, paste the link to the HDRI sphere image in the Description, and press the Background button (that'll activate the image). The right-click again, type the name you want in the Description field, and hit the Save button. That's how I made all the built-in entries. : )

I don't suppose there's a way to add new background images?
