Are you tired of juggling resources between your people and your industries? Sick of messages telling you your firewood is out of stock...again? Sick of greedy little people hoarding all the things your industry needs to survive?

Me too.

So, I made this little mod. It introduces a new resource: Industrial Fuel. It's basically supercharged firewood. The good thing is, you can make it right there in your existing Sawmills! Of course, you have to research it first. The research appears right after the gathering hall, which is its requirement. After that, you're golden.

Where to use it:
The following industries have been changed to use Industrial Fuel (I-Fuel):
Bakery
Candleshop
Distillery
Farm Center
Guardhouse (but not Watchtower)
Oil Mill
Pottery Workshop
School
University

The input requirements remain exactly the same for these buildings. It's just been converted to use I-Fuel.
Now you're people can have their firewood and your industry can have theirs. Everybody wins.

This mod works on your saved cities as well as any new ones. If you apply it to a saved city, you might want to pause it and get some I-Fuel producing quickly. Your industries need them.

I've done language translations for all the official languages available in the game but I used google translate to do it. If it's wrong, blame them! Or you can blame me. But I do hope the languages convey what they're supposed to.

This is my first mod. Hell, it's my first attempt AT modding ever. Let me know if it's working or not. And, please, be kind in the comments. Or not!!!

IndustrialFuel lists the I-Fuel as a separate category from regular firewood. Your city summary should rightly reflect only Firewood. To check your stock of I-Fuel, you'll need to view your stockpile.

To address issues with mod conflicts, this mod alters the Sawmill.bui file significantly by adding a new production line. If another mod you have alters this file, then a conflict will occur and load order will determine which mod's Sawmill.bui is loaded last. The only way I've found to fix this issue is to add the following to the Sawmill.bui file in your other mod just below the 1st "Production Line" entry:

By adding these lines to your other Sawmill.bui file, the other mod will recognize the production line for Industrial Fuel and incorporate it into your game so you can load that file later than the Industrial Fuel mod. Hope this helps those with conflicts!

This mod is a game changer for me. My distilleries were not getting firewood. Now they are operating at full capacity. Thank you so much. If I was only able to pick one mod for this game it would be yours. Keep up the good work.

I've included a fix as well as a list of files this mod changes. The fix is a pain in the backside but it's the only way I could figure it out.

I loaded up my game and it seems to be working. When I click on the arrow next to "Production" in the sawmill, it shows I-Fuel. Are you using any other mods? Which ones? There might be a conflict that is preventing your sawmill from showing it.

Completed the research; however, the sawmill does not give an option for I-fuel. Now I have no I-fuel and buildings that require it. Time to delete game, remove mod and start over. Would be great if it worked

One note: The I-Fuel is listed in the town summary window the same as regular firewood so your firewood total now represents both types of fuel. I'll look into making I-Fuel it's own resource so it doesn't mask how much actual firewood you have. Unfortunately, I have neither the knowledge or skill to change the panels so I can't make I-Fuel appear in the town summary. Sorry.
