Veer Mahaan seemed to always be "coming soon" to Monday Night Raw before making his re-debut on the red brand in April 2022.

The former pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization was discovered on the Indian reality show The Million Dollar Arm, and the story was later turned into a movie.

After signing with the WWE in 2018, he made his debut on NXT TV in 2020 as Rinku Singh, teaming with Saurav Gurjar as Indus Sher. The following year, he moved on to Raw under a new name, Veer, and backed up Jinder Mahal alongside Shanky.
