Agreed, lovely little challenge. Solved in 6/655/14 .

Repeatedly cut the remainder in half, nice task. I've got it solved with a 8/621/15
Unfortunately my slightly more elegant solution 7/~570/14 fails on test 5/80, as there will also be some 3 digit input's (100). I'm not sure if the information is intentionally missing from the description, or if it's just to fool with you like the campaign sometimes does by giving you the false feeling that you've solved it for a few passed tests.
