Zach
Death and the dice level all distinctions!



Zach is a compulsive gambler - every room he clears grants him a poker chip! He can spend the stack of chips to roll his lucky pair of dice: Snake Eyes. Rolling the dice can grant boons such as stat upgrades, pickups and perks to improve future rolls. However, they can also condemn Zach with stat downs, foes to fight and even quirks to get in the way of rolling them again.

Whether the snake helps or hurts depends on the number of chips Zach spends to roll them; spending more chips gives him a greater chance of a positive roll... but rolling with less chips lets him roll more often. If lady luck is on your side, taking some risks can be profitable indeed.

Being a slave to chance is not without its downsides and Zach just can't seem to hold onto his money for long. Shops will have a severely reduced stock but will also contain a poker table where he can exchange his cold, hard cash for poker chips. Will you play it loose and hit it big, or bet wisely and reap the rewards?


Tainted Zach
Don't push your luck...



It takes a serpent's gaze to see through the cruel game of chance, and Tainted Zach has learned to wield his luck as a weapon - gaining a unique chain lightning tear effect. Every room he clears gives him a gem of luck, which grants him a luck up and enhances his chain lightning with more damage & additional chains. These gems are not without risk however; holding gems creates portals to lady luck's domain at random, adding new challenges to rooms.

Even T.Zach can only ride his luck for so long; gaining too much will result in his gems shattering, severely harming him and resetting his luck & chain lightning boons. One of such a serpentine visage is not so easily bested however, and T.Zach can use his Snake's Eyes to discard the gems of luck, weakening his chain lightning but averting a disaster.

Using Snake's Eyes will force lady luck's portals to spawn, filled with further denizens of the basement. The more gems of luck the eyes consume, the more portals will spawn. Portals created this way can occasionally provide useful items instead of foes. Beware though: as T.Zach progresses and gets stronger - using the Snake's Eyes more and more - the adversaries present within the portals will also get stronger. Will you be able to break the vicious cycle and see Tainted Zach through luck and luck lost?

You can track your completion using either Completion Marks for Modded Characters or Encyclopedia

• Full EID descriptions, encyclopedia compatible (encyclopedia descriptions still work-in-progress)!
  
• Works in co-op.
  
• Shouldn't conflict with any other mods (tested with 100+ mods).
  
• Contains content from my other item mods: Rift, Dented Chalice & Greedy Limpet. They wont break together, but I'd suggest uninstalling them if you plan on using Zach!
  
• If you're having issues with the mod, it might be a bug that's already been fixed! Make sure to unsub from the mod, launch your game and then resub to force an update!
