"I can't figure these guys out. When show up, sometimes they'll fight our enemies, they'll fight us, or they'll fight both of us. No one knows whose side they're one.
But the worst part, was that the one time I encountered them. We were pinned down by a large force of outlaws when the quantums showed up. Thankfully their arrival helped to alleviate the pressure on us, until we realized that they were fighting both us and the outlaws. After the battle was over, and we survived by a hair, I went to inspect one of the quantum's bodies. I swear, one of their patches looked strangely familiar...Like one a buddy of mine had before he was killed a few years ago..."
