Why not drop in and shop?

The S.S. Kresge Co. was a chain of popular 5-&-dime stores throughout the United States from the 1910s to the 1970s, selling everything from tobacco to toothbrushes. It was the forerunner of the Kmart brand, and many of their buildings are still extant. The company opened some of its first stores in the Detroit area, and was headquartered there until 1972. It changed its name to K Mart Corp in 1977.

Designed in a late Art Deco style, Detroit's Jefferson Avenue Kresge store opened in 1936, and was a mainstay of the Jefferson-Chalmers commercial district. As the area declined, the Kresge store closed, and the building was abandoned by the 2000s. In 2021, the building was renovated and now serves as the JEI Neighborhood Resource Hub, helping members of the community with their housing needs.

What an amazing surprise! I used to walk to this particular Kresge's with my grandmother! Thank you so much for allowing me to place a fond memory into my Cities: Skylines!
