Also the DLL editor from Going Medieval was so innovative as it was simply going trough the options in the category, so it was pretty resistant to changes in the game engine itself as long as the categories themselves didn't change. Thus it worked partially for a long time after there were changes to the character settings themselves for the categories that remained the same and just got some new options. Thus something similar if someone has the skills could be a solution here too.

I believe the "edit" button opens the character editor, but limits it just to the texture part. Any chance there could be way to open the full character editor that you can access from the beginning of scenario, the "character points" included?

Yeah, the "top soil" MyceliumSubstance when dug up is considered dirt. Afaik, Kultural Tileset, changes dirt to clay. Otherwise, shouldnt be any conflicts.

Ive not seen or heard of anything for saves. Modding scene here is pretty minimal. Character editor would be far more involved than any octdat mod. There was one a while ago but since the game is EA/Beta, it was broken often and then abandoned.

CheatEngine might be a decent temp solution but they tend to be something that breaks on updates.

You can also change what item comes from digging these substances. For the most part mods can be done by editing the .octdat files. Which are generally easy to work with. You'd just change this line digItemTypeName = Dirt

If you want to get a bit more into modding feel free to hop into the NF discord > mod-discussions, or DM me. A save/character editor is a fairly tall order though.

Thanks for your answer.

Are you sure about the mycelium-factor? Sounds like something that might affect the frostcap gathering or is it just the blue dirt-stuff around them?

Yeah, I was selling the extra, but when you can commonly purchase expensive magic items with dirt, it feels kinda... Dirty... :D

I was going to do the value editing myself, because that is the one way you can be pretty sure there are no multiple mods affecting same things and causing problems.

Guess I need to ask the Cheat Engine community about the editor then. Perhaps there is some kind soul who would like to make table or editor that allows changing the pawn stats.

You don't happen to know about any decompiler/decrypter that would change the save files into plain text either? Unzipping makes the files somewhat more readable, but leaves still many unknown characters/strings, which makes editing with notepad++ out of question.

Havent heard of any save editors. For the value, something around 0.225 might be better for that balance, would have to play around with it to see. Id sell off all that dirt to traders though.

If you want you can easily change this in the mod. Open in text editor or IDE.

Dirt/Grass/Mycelium/Sand Substance produce dirt. Lower value = higher harvest

Also you don't happen to know if anybody has worked a save file editor for NF, so I could fix some of those mid-game characters to be less miserable on the affinity side and catch up bad RNG skill losses for people (got three HP only levelups in a row from the start with a skill expert, which is not cool)?

Say, you don't happen to know a good mining rate for the dirt that would with all skills set the gained number to equal or slightly more with all the block options to not lose dirt when you move earth from one place to another, but don't get too much excess?

The current setup rate corrects the problem of disappearing mass, but causes problems when the dirt gets accumulating and soon you have 100k dirt laying everywhere in huge piles, filling up all storage (took a while before I understood the problem with huge empty storage fields and disabled the dirt from their options), so some less excessive rate would be appreciated... :)

Thanks.

Done :)

I would appreciate if you would. Dirt and stone are the two materials I'm mostly struggling with since they have absolutely no alternatives (besides wood instead of stone in some cases).
