Unfortunately there isn't anything that can really be done about the cockpit change aside from adjusting the load order. Cosmetic mods often have to include dummy block definitions to force assets to be loaded and those might overwrite the changes I made.
Even though the Cockpit Reanimation mod is only supposed to be a cosmetic change, if you have it set in your mod order to load before this one it will allow you to build the enclosed cockpits, but everything works properly if loaded after. I figured with the way the animation system is supposed to work it shouldn't matter, but apparently it does.
Also, even though you can't search directly for the basic assembler, if building a survival kit on large grid and you use the scroll function it allows you to build it. This was tested in a clean start with no other mods.
