Bruiser Bedlam

Ion Croitoru began wrestled as Bruiser Bedlam in Smoky Mountain Wrestling in 1994. The former Johnny K-9 became a favorite of Jim Cornette and received a huge push in the promotion, even scoring a pinfall victory over Randy Savage.

He held the Beat the Champ Television Title on on occasion and defending the belt five times to win $5,000.

He left the promotion later that year and used the Bruiser Bedlam name off and on.

Croitoru later got into serious legal issues related to criminal activity during his involvement with the Satan's Choice Outlaw motorcycle club. He was convicted for his role in the bombing of a police station in addition to extortion and a concealed carry violation before a murder conviction several years later. He was released to a halfway house in 2016 only to die the following year.
