Defenders: Japanese Empire (Axis)

ATTENTION: Being unable to change the map's development name, it's still called "Cliffs" in-game!

April 1944: War rages on in the Pacific theater, USA forces continue their leapfrogging strategy towards Japanese mainland, cutting off the enemy supply chain along the way.
After being victorious on Iwo Jima, eyes are now set on the Island of Okinawa, from where a mainland invasion can be staged.

However, new intel indicates that the Japanese have build up an important new airbase closeby, hiding in plain sight on a small volcanic island:
Kazanjima, or "Volcano Isle"

To prevent Japanese reinforcements comming in from Kazanjima during the Okinawa attack, an American assault to take over the airbase is planned on the 20th of April.
Japanese soldiers have already entrenched themselves all over the Island, traveling quickly through mountains using man-made cave tunnels they dug out with explosives.
They will surely be outnumbered, but are known to fight fiercly until the bitter end. Will the US Army be succesful in securing the airbase, and if so, at what cost?

Stage V: Kazanjima Airbase

- USA: 400 tickets (40+ per conquer)
- Map is mainly suited for PvE, playing as the USA
- Invisible borders have been placed around ridges and mountains to prevent the AI from climbing/falling down very steep terrain.
this limits freedom somewhat but was the only way to make the map fun and playable!

Feel free to report problems and/or suggest small changes (Squad loadout, balance issues, terrain modification)

Surprised this was made several years ago, it's surely one of the best mods out there! Very good mission and map. Will this ever be updated still?

ᴛᴏʙʏ1 Ah yes autism strikes again. you have to be a cunt and be so entitled to think that people need to make a map how you want and the way you choose. here is a great Idea bud MAKE YOU'RE OWN FUCKING MAP THEN.

@Eldritchbard Thanks for playing! I'm aware of the issue happening on the beach, sometimes they go through the cave but more often they indeed stay guarded at the site. I wasn't able to fix it sadly

Awesome map. Looks and plays great; constant action, not too much running between objectives, and good difficulty. Really like the caves, too.

However, the AI seemed to struggle a bit in spots. During the initial phase, if you take the immediate beachhead before taking the objective more off to the side, the AI will pool up there and refuse to move on. This also seems to happen at the objective with the three wooden bridges-- the AI will opt to go to the objective on the stone bridge instead.
